This book deals with the problematic of sense in the science of terminology. It tackles the questions of the relation between the term and the word and how to determine the senses of the terms and the boundaries that separate specialized languages from common language.

The reader will become ascertained of the emergence of a new research terminological pattern based on the use of records. Thus, the new science of terminology is characterized by its methods and aims which are different from those in the traditional methodology. It, also, tends to be descriptive instead of being normative. So, henceforth, it will be included in the framework of a straightforward linguistic approach.
